This paper describes the molecular details of how protein toxins active against certain insects (including mosquitos) rearrange their shape to interact with the gut membranes of their target insects which eventually leads to dead insects. The paper is going to appear in a special edition of Proteins: Structure, Function, & Bioinformatics dedicated to my first postdoctoral advisor on the occasion of his 65th birthday. I also decided to dedicate the paper to my recently deceased 2nd postdoctoral advisor who was a dedicated mentor and colleague.
Update - the acceptance letter arrived

J I was teasing about the yawns, but seriously I just don't have that sort of brain. What impresses me is that you can also write with warmth and passion (about non-scientific things). We have well published acedemics in the fam and well everything they write/say sounds like they are talking about bugs intestines... or sonnets LOL.
And you seem to be swiched on to your family- that's huge! Doesn't happen in our brainiacs families.That has made big, big, huge messes!
Like sweetie, you are so like. normal... for an egg head!
